All About NUCS ( National Union Of Cameroon Students )

The Union promotes academic excellence among its members and their well-being in all Nigerian institutions of learning. It fosters a spirit of unity, solidarity, patriotism, good leadership, tolerance, and humility among its members. NUCS serves as a bridge between relevant government authorities, disseminating information of interest to its members. The Union collects, documents, and archives valuable information on Nigerian tertiary institutions. This information aids the orientation and integration of Cameroonians seeking to study in Nigeria. The Union aims to critically and objectively analyze educational, economic, socio-cultural, and political developments in Cameroon. It shares its findings with relevant authorities and educates the Cameroonian public on matters affecting the destiny and well-being of youth and the nation as a whole through commentaries and conference papers both within and outside Nigeria

Membership is open to all Cameroonian students enrolled in tertiary institutions of learning in Nigeria, as well as Cameroonians pursuing academic or professional training programs in Nigeria.

School & Residential Issues

Yes, you can, provided you meet the specific admission requirements of the Nigerian university you wish to attend. While a GCE Advanced Level certificate is often considered a standard requirement for direct entry, individual universities may have additional criteria, such as minimum grades or specific subject combinations.

Each Nigerian university has specific admission requirements. It's recommended to visit the official website of the university you're interested in for detailed information on the application process. For inquiries about admission requirements and immigration matters, please contact the Nigerian Consulate or High Commission in Cameroon (located in Buea and Douala).

Yes, you do. While there's a 3-month visa-free period for Cameroonians entering Nigeria, it's highly recommended to obtain an STR (Student Temporary Residence) visa upon acceptance into a Nigerian university. Upon arrival in Nigeria, it's crucial to visit an immigration office to acquire a student residency permit.

An STR visa is a temporary visa issued to international students who have been admitted to a Nigerian educational institution. It allows you to stay in Nigeria for the duration of your studies.
